CMAT stands for Common Management Admission Test. This is a national level MBA entrance examination conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) and over 70,000+ candidates register for this exam annually. The CMAT registration form for 2025 exam was out in the month of November 2024, the admit card was released on January 20 and the CMAT exam was held on 25th January. CMAT is a purely computer based test (CBT) of 180 minutes (3 hours).

CMAT Exam Pattern

The first step of getting to understand any exam is to get thorough knowledge about its pattern and format.

The CMAT exam pattern is divided into five sections and it is an online/computer based examination. The duration of the CMAT exam is 3 hours (180 minutes) with no sectional time limit. The CMAT exam format consists of 100 questions in total, allotting 4 marks for every correct answer and a deduction of 1 mark for every incorrect answer. The total marks for CMAT exam is 400 (100*4).

CMAT syllabus is quite similar to the syllabus of other MBA entrance exams, with a few changes and addition of a few more topics to assess the candidates&aposs intellectual power and skills in the most effective way.

CMAT Eligibility Criteria

In order to appear for the CMAT exam, the candidate needs to make sure that he/she satisfies the following criteria:

  • ➤ Candidates willing to appear for the CMAT exam, must hold a bachelor&aposs degree from a recognized university or institution.
  • ➤ A minimum of 50% marks is required in graduation to appear for CMAT exam (45% for reserved category candidates).
  • ➤ Final year graduation students can also appear for the exam, provided they satisfy the above criteria upon completion of graduation.
  • ➤ There is no age limit for CMAT exam.
  • ➤ Participating candidates must hold Indian citizenship.
  • ➤ Next, candidates should select up to six exam centers according to their preference where they want to take the exam.
  • ➤ Pay the registration fee using online payment methods.
  • ➤ Review the application form and click on the “Submit” link.
  • ➤ After completing the CAT registration process, candidates must download and print a copy of their application form.

CMAT Registration Details

Follow the below mentioned steps to register for CMAT exam:

  • ➤ Go to the official NTA CMAT website: cmat.ntaonline.in.
  • ➤ Click on the “New Registration” tab to create your account. Provide accurate information and a valid email address.
  • ➤ Log in with the credentials you received when you created your account.
  • ➤ Fill out the CMAT application form with your personal details, educational background, and preferred exam centers.
  • ➤ Upload scanned copies of your recent passport-sized photo and signature, following the size and format rules given on the website.
  • ➤ Pay the registration fee online and keep a record of the transaction details for your reference.
  • ➤ Before you submit, double-check all the information in your application form. If everything looks good, go ahead and submit it.

CMAT Exam Fees

The CMAT exam fee is Rs. 2,500 for male candidates belonging to general category and Rs. 1,250 for females of reserved as well as unreserved category and other reserved category students. The fee is to be paid through an online portal, and the procedure of payment is completely digital.

CMAT Cut Off

The cut off for CMAT is released by the CMAT accepting colleges once the exam results are out. The candidates have to ensure that they go through the cut offs thoroughly to select the appropriate college which accepts their scored percentile.
