NMAT or the Narsee Monjee Management Aptitude Test, is a well-peferred entrance exam for MBA in India. It was started by the NMIMS institute but it is now recognized by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). The NMAT scores are accepted by Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies and few other esteemed business schools in India.

The NMAT exam is held around 3 times in a year and unlike other reputed MBA entrance exams, there is no negative marking in this exam. NMAT exam is popular for it&aposs flexible structure and acceptance by some top MBA universities and colleges. Any student aspiring to pursue MBA must consider appearing for NMAT exam to secure one of the top b-schools in India.

It is a national-level computer-based test that evaluates the aptitude and analytical abilities of candidates seeking admission to NMIMS and other leading B-schools in India.A candidate must submit a separate application for the college NMIMS in addition to the NMAT exam application, failing to do so, the application will not be considered.

NMAT EXAM PATTERN

The NMAT exam paper is divided into three sections, Language Skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning. The exam includes multiple choice questions only. The number of questions allotted for each section is 36, the total number of questions being 108 The time allotted for the Language Skills section is 28 minutes, for Quantitative Skills it is 52 minutes, and for Logical Reasoning the time limit is 40 minutes. Candidates need to complete their MNAT paper within 120 minutes as it is the maximum time duration for this exam. The candidates are allotted 3 marks for every correct answer, and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers or unattended questions. The maximum marks for NMAT exam is 360. Participants need to qualify both the sectional and overall cut off to be eligible for admission into various MBA colleges.

NMAT EXAM SYLLABUS

As discussed above, the NMAT exam is divided into three sections, Language Skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning.

The Language Skills section is designed in a way to judge the candidate&aposs ability to understand and communicate English.

The section of Quantitative Skills is included in the syllabus to evaluate the mathematical ability of a candidate.

The Logical Reasoning section successfully tests a candidate&aposs logical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Nmat Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for NMAT exam is mentioned below:

  • ➤ The candidate must hold a bachelor&aposs degree in any stream from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% aggregate or equivalent marks
  • ➤ The academic qualification of candidates must be in a 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 format.
  • Final year students are also eligible to apply for the exam, provided they meet the required marks criteria upon completion of the degree.
  • ➤ Use the user ID and password to sign in.
  • ➤ Access the CAT application form and fill in all the required details carefully.
  • ➤ Upload the necessary documents in the prescribed format and file size.
  • ➤ Next, candidates should select up to six exam centers according to their preference where they want to take the exam.
  • ➤ Pay the registration fee using online payment methods.
  • ➤ Review the application form and click on the “Submit” link.
  • ➤ After completing the CAT registration process, candidates must download and print a copy of their application form.
