Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) is a national level MBA entrance exam conducted by Symbiosis International University (SIU) for the purpose of admissions in it's affiliated colleges and some other business schools as well. With 1 lakh+ candidates participating in this exam every year, it is among the most popular MBA entrance exams in India.

SNAP exam is usually held thrice every year, and a candidate can appear for up to all three exams. If a candidate is appearing for more than one SNAP exam, then the best of the two/three marks shall be taken into consideration. The best colleges accepting SNAP exam scores in India are SIBM Pune, SCMHRD, SIIB, SIBM Bangalore, SIOM, SIBM Nagpur etc.

SNAP exam is a time-based or speed oriented exam to test the candidates' time management and decision-making skills and it is usually considered a bit easier than the other popular MBA entrance exams such CAT and XAT. SNAP 2024 was held on 8th, 15th, and 21st December.

SNAP Exam Pattern

As discussed above, the SNAP exam is held thrice every year, and if a candidate appears for more than one exam, the best score among the lot is considered for MBA admission. SNAP is an online exam, and the exam duration is of 1 hour (60 minutes). The SNAP exam is divided into three sections, and for each correct answer, 1 mark is awarded. There is a deduction of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer. The total number of questions is 60, and the total number of marks for the SNAP exam is also 60.

SNAP Exam Syllabus

In order to ace the SNAP, it is crucial to have a clear understanding of the exam syllabus and pattern to create an effective division of time for each subject and schedule your preparation accordingly. A good understanding of the exam syllabus also reduces confusion and lack of confidence throughout the preparation and even during the exam time.

The SNAP exam syllabus is categorized under three sections -

  • General English
  • Logical & analytical reasoning
  • Quantitative aptitude & data interpretation

The section of general English holds the least weightage with 15 marks, while the logical & analytical reasoning section holds the highest weightage with 25 marks, and the last section of quantitative aptitude & data interpretation carries 20 marks.

SNAP Eligibility Criteria

The general eligibility criteria for the SNAP exam are mentioned below:

  • ➤ The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree in any stream from a UGC recognized university with a minimum of 50% aggregate or equivalent marks (45% for SC/ST candidates)
  • Final year students are also eligible to apply for the exam, provided they meet the required marks criteria upon completion of the degree.

SNAP Registration Procedure

The SNAP exam is conducted thrice every year, and the candidate can appear in up to all the three exams. If the candidate appears in more than one exam, then the higher score shall be considered for the final percentile calculation, and there is no chance of normalization of scores.

The step-wise registration procedure for the SNAP exam is explained below:

  • ■ Visit the official registration portal for SNAP that is www.snaptest.org
  • ■ Click 'register here' and finish logging in
  • ■ Complete filling out the SNAP registration form
  • ■ Enter the OTP, and verify your mobile number and email address
  • ■ Complete the payment of the SNAP registration fee
  • ■ Fill in the required details about your preferred SNAP colleges
  • ■ Make the payment for the selected colleges & programs.

SNAP Exam Fees

In order to apply for the SNAP exam, the candidate needs to pay an amount of Rs. 2250, regardless of reserved or un-reserved category. This amount needs to be paid separately for every attempt that the candidate is applying for; for example, if the candidate wishes to appear for the exam twice in a year, then the registration amount shall be doubled. An amount of Rs. 1000 is charged for per college/program that the candidate has opted for. This is a one-time fee.

SNAP Cut-Off

The cut-off for admissions is announced or released by the universities and colleges once the SNAP results are announced. The usual cut-offs for SNAP according to the reports of previous years are mentioned below:
